Mawangdui Han Tombs to reopen on May 1
Last August, in order to ensure the stability of the Mawangdui Han Tombs and overall quality improvement and renovation, the Hunan Museum launched the second phase of the protection project for the cultural relics in Mawangdui Han Tombs.
The protection project has lasted for 9 months. After careful design and scientific construction, various protection measures such as building decoration, foundation reinforcement, new walkways, as well as retaining walls have been completed, and tomb pits and coffins have also been restored.
At present, the project is in the final stage and Mawangdui Han Tombs will reopen on May 1.
